Logistics
Logistics refers to the overall process of managing how resources are acquired, stored, and transported to their final destination. G’Stato has the skills in Global and Last Mile Logistics and Small Parcel to Full Truckload shipments. Augmenting these skills are our disciplines in warehouse and inventory management and time sensitive mission critical parts delivery.
We’ve been involved in many projects which require the application of technology in Logistics. The selection and deployment of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), re-engineering existing TMS solutions, eliminating technology debt, developing Analytics platforms as well as engineering a mobile, real-time last-mile application, coordinating efforts and providing visibility between every member of the supply chain to get products from their source to the consumer.
G’Stato can help with your Logistics Technical Challenges.
USE CASES
Last Mile Logistics
The last mile delivery model was inefficient. Critical spare part delivery, often required within 2 to 4 hours from receipt of order, was based on static delivery times. Field Engineers (FE) were dispatched based on these ETA’s often arriving too early or well after the part arrived adding to customer frustration. Thousands of phone calls were made between all parties in the supply chain mainly for ETA and location information. To solve these problems, Robert designed, implemented and delivered a mobile GPS application which provides real time ETA and location visibility of part and FE, to all parties in the transaction. A fortune 100 client embraced the technology, increasing client satisfaction, internal and external efficiencies and strengthened their relationship with our client. As a result, the fortune 100 client bestowed upon us their prestigious Global Innovation Partner of 2015 award.
Analytics in Logistics
Like other companies, an unstructured approach to data quality and analytics was commonplace in the Logistics company we served. Users would generate reports using different parameters, manipulate the data offline using their own formulas and submit manually generated spreadsheets for reports. This cumbersome process was poorly suited for efficiency, data exploration and insight discovery. Robert’s goal was to create one transactional data source the business could trust, develop a data warehouse and associated data marts, implement a business intelligence tool for consistent reporting while providing a controlled environment for ad hoc reporting and discovery. As a result, users and clients made smarter, more timely business decisions for on-time deliveries, costs, and revenue and profitability by carrier, region and lane. These insights improved overall business performance. By empowering non-technical business users with timely fact based reporting and charts, Client Business reviews became dynamic and forward thinking rather than a look back in time. Overall the platform improved client loyalty and satisfaction and ultimately increased revenue.
